Xavier Eugene Prather is the winner of Big Brother 23 (US). He was later a finalist on Big Brother: Reindeer Games.

A member of the Kings, Xavier knew he was in for an intense game, so he started low-key, pretending he was a bartender and not talking much strategy with anyone. His likability got him into several key alliances, most notably The Cookout. At a certain point, with all of the major house targets gone, Tiffany Mitchell orchestrated a plan to get The Cookout to the end. Unfortunately for Xavier, it involved him eventually turning on his team of Kings, with whom he had been incredibly loyal. His game took arguably its biggest hit when he lost his teammate Christian Birkenberger right before jury, a move he disagreed with to the point of nearly flipping the house.

While Xavier remained off the block and relatively away from competitions in the first half of the game, the second half is another story. He played his role in Tiffany’s master plan with his assigned plus one Alyssa Lopez. She accidentally gave him his first nomination via the “Chopping Block Roulette,” and he would proceed to sit in those chairs for the next three weeks after that, mostly as a pawn against Alyssa. When it got down to the Cookout, Xavier was one of the most threatening people left from a competitive perspective. But he had locked down Final Two deals with both Derek Frazier and Kyland Young, the latter of whom even removed him from the block during a double eviction. This gave Xavier the power to clip the biggest threats to his game, including Kyland, who confronted him out the door by asking if his nephew would respect his gameplay. In the end, Xavier being able to get to end despite being a competitive threat was considered impressive by the jury, leading him to win by an unanimous 9-0 vote, becoming the first Black winner in Big Brother U.S. history.

Favorite activities: Playing basketball, spending time with family and friends, exercising, kayaking, hiking, and chillin’. Who are your favorite Houseguest duos? Those who became best friends in the Big Brother house or had a showmance? Definitely the duos. Chilltown (RIP) is my all-time favorite, closely followed by The Hitmen. What are you most excited about living inside the Big Brother house? First and foremost, just getting an opportunity to participate in a game and live in a house that very few people can say they’ve experienced is pretty incredible. I want to see the design of the house up close and see what random guests (especially Zingbot) will show up throughout my time in the house. What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house? Not being able to talk to my family, especially my mom, is going to be very difficult. Also, having to live with 15 other people. I’ve never lived with multiple people for longer than two weeks so it should be interesting. I’m a bit of an ambivert so while I do enjoy being around people, I will definitely need some alone time to recharge. What is your favorite past moment on Big Brother? Britney Haynes’ goodbye message to Boogie after his eviction on BB14 or Danielle Reyes’ impressions of her BB3 houseguests. Both equally hilarious! What is your strategy for winning the game? From a competition standpoint, only win when I have to. Socially, make genuine connections and friendships with each of the Houseguests. Reiterate that we are playing a game and avoid bringing personal matters into game decisions. Adapt to the twists of the game as they come and enjoy playing Big Brother the way it was meant to be played! My life’s motto is… “Make your own luck.” What would you take into the house and why? -Pictures of my family; constant visual reminders of why I’m there. -My record player and my vinyl records; for good music and good vibes. -My cat. He’s awesome and will show people that not all cats are evil (FYI I love dogs too, I’m just waiting until I get a house to give my future dog the yard it deserves). Fun facts about yourself: -I’m a Taurus. -I have 10 siblings. -I was born with a severe clubfoot and had to learn to walk in a cast. -I completed a cross-cultural study abroad in England and Scotland. -I am not a fan of coffee. I actually made it through all of law school without even so much as a single shot of espresso.

• In the Week 7 Power of Veto competition, Xavier took the "BB Bankruptcy" punishment, and since he won the Power of Veto, he in turn lost all 150 of his BB Bucks.
• After the conclusion of the Week 8 Head of Household competition, all houseguests randomly chose an envelope to open after receiving their weekly payment from America. In addition to the 75 BB Bucks from America, the envelope granted Xavier 50 BB Bucks.

• In March 2022, Xavier and Alyssa appeared in a Paramount+ commercial, being depicted as "lovebirds" before getting interrupted by Gladys Murphy, a character from Crank Yankers.
• Xavier returned in Big Brother 24 (US) with the rest of The Cookout alliance to discuss the season during Week 11's eviction episode.
• Xavier, Hannah and Tiffany were interviewed for the Big Brother: 25th Anniversary Celebration ahead of Big Brother 25 (US).
• In 2024, Xavier competed on USA's new reality competition show The Anonymous, alongside Australian Survivor's Nina Twine.
• Xavier was asked to appear on a special episode of Big Brother 26 (US) alongside fellow BBRG houseguests/winners Cody Calafiore and Taylor Hale, and fellow winner Jag Bains, to look back on the first three weeks of the season and reveal the next twist, but he was unable to do so due to his contract with The Anonymous.

• Xavier competed on the first season of The Challenge: USA, CBS's spin-off of the flagship MTV series, which featured Big Brother, Survivor, The Amazing Race and Love Island contestants. Fellow BB23 houseguests Alyssa, Azah, Derek X, Kyland and Tiffany also competed, alongside Angela Rummans, David Alexander and Enzo Palumbo. In Episode 4, he was randomly paired with Survivor's Shan Smith and they ended up getting eliminated.
