Topaz began the game in a solid position, closely aligned with Gary Levy, and part of a showmance with Alec Beall. This allowed to Topaz to fly under the radar and past the pre-jury phase of the game. However, Topaz’s game would take a turn for the worse after she won Head of Household during the Instant Eviction. After it was revealed to be an Instant Eviction, Topaz had just a few minutes to decide her nominations. Topaz began to discuss with herself what to do, however, Unbeknownst to her, all the other houseguests could hear her talk about her alliances. Topaz decided to target Andrew Monaghan and nominated him alongside AJ Burman. However, despite Topaz making it clear who her target was, Alec and Peter Brown decided to switch their votes, in an attempt to disassociate themselves from Topaz. This led to AJ being evicted and Andrew staying in the house. After her failure in the Instant Eviction, Topaz played the rest of the game from the bottom. She lost her two closest allies in Gary and Alec the next two weeks and despite Peter having the veto during the Double Eviction, Peter decided not to use it to save Topaz, despite being on the bottom together. Nominated alongside her last ally Talla Rajaei, Topaz was evicted by a vote of 3-0, placing 7th, and becoming the 3rd member of the jury.
Even though Topaz did not end up in the Final Two, she is best remembered for her actions on finale night, when she accidentally cast her vote for Jillian MacLaughlin to win, instead of her intended vote for Gary. This caused Topaz to get up from her seat and claim that is not how she voted. Eventually, the producers showed her footage showing that she did indeed cast her vote for Jillian over Gary. This caused major controversy as Topaz’s vote for Jillian to win was the deciding vote, even though Jillian technically only got three jury votes.

She is the first houseguest to ever do that in Big Brother history. She would later be followed by Americancelebrity houseguest Metta World Peace. However, his voting mistake was during an eviction and not during the finale. Additionally, his vote did not change the overall outcome like hers did.
Due to Topaz's mistake host Arisa Cox emphasizes that all the jury members have to vote for who they want to win more than once on every finale night since season 2.
