History[]
Creation[]
The Sunsetters was created on the second day of Big Brother Canada 9. It consisted of Beth Bieda, Jedson Tavernier, Kiefer Collison, Latoya Anderson, Tina Thistle, and Tychon Carter-Newman.
Early Loses[]
After Josh Farnworth and Rohan Kapoor were left nominated for eviction in week two, Latoya attempted to flip the vote, correctly assessing Rohan was going after the alliance. To not expose their alliance to the rest of the house, they attempted to flip affiliate Victoria Woghiren to keep Josh. Latoya’s plan failed as Victoria refused to flip, resulting in Rohan staying in the house. Latoya’s plan exposed the alliance to the rest of the house and a counter alliance began to form. After Victoria won Head of Household, she quickly got to work in creating a counter alliance. Victoria used Tina’s strong relationship with Tera Gillen-Petrozzi to get her to defect from the alliance and join The Oddballs. Victoria set her sights on Latoya, viewing her as the greater overall threat of the group. Victoria nominated her alongside Kiefer, and despite Jedson winning the Power of Veto, Victoria threatened to nominate Tychon in Latoya’s place if it was used. This prompted Jedson to leave nominations intact. Latoya was evicted by a vote of 6-3, with the remainder of the alliance, minus Tina voting to keep her.
Regaining Control[]
The Sunsetters were able to take control over the game, through their dominance in competitions, and Victoria’s defection from The Oddballs alliance. They took out nearly every player on the other side of the house before turning on each other officially during Jedson’s Head of Household reign.
Victory[]
Ultimately, Tychon was able to pull out the win. Defeating Breydon White in a jury vote of 6-1, crowning him the winner of Big Brother Canada 9 and deeming the alliance a success.
Trivia[]
- Latoya Anderson is the only member to not make it to the jury phase of the game.
