History[]

Creation[]

The alliance was created during Week 4, when Memphis Garrett was nominated as the target by April Dowling. After tensions arose between the two sides of the house, Keesha Smith, Libra Thompson, and Renny Martyn created a plan to keep Memphis and blindside Jessie Godderz. Due to Dan being America's Player, he wasn’t allowed to cast his own vote. Dan decided to promise them anyways that he would keep Memphis. Dan and Memphis used this opportunity to create an alliance together.

Dominance[]

Despite Michelle Costa winning Head of Household, Memphis was able to use his relationship with her to convince her to keep Dan safe. Memphis was successful, as Michelle nominated Libra and Keesha for eviction. Later, Libra was evicted by a unanimous vote of 6-0.

After Renny won Head of Household, Dan and Memphis established an alliance with Keesha and Renny, and the group decided to target April. Despite most of the alliance wanting Renny to nominate April and her Showmance Bryan Ollie, Renny refused as she didn’t want to nominate Ollie. Later, Renny nominated April and Jerry MacDonald for eviction. After Dan won the Power of Veto and left the nominations the same, April was evicted by a vote of 4-1.

After Dan won Head of Household, he hatched a plan to hide his alliance with Memphis. Dan decided to nominate Memphis and Jerry for eviction, hoping to please Ollie temporarily in the deal they made during the HOH competition and to hide The Renegade alliance. After Memphis won the Power of Veto, he used it on himself, and Dan nominated Michelle as a replacement nominee. Later, Michelle was evicted by a vote of 3-1.

After Keesha won Head of Household during the Double Eviction, she targeted Ollie, and after he failed to win the Power of Veto, Ollie was evicted. After the last remaining outsider, Jerry, won Head of Household, he quickly targeted Dan. Memphis was able to convince Jerry to keep him safe, in return he wouldn’t use the veto on Dan if he won. Jerry decided to nominate Dan and Keesha. After Memphis won the Power of Veto, Dan was able to convince him to continue on and veto him. Much to Jerry’s surprise, Memphis did, leaving Keesha and Renny nominated. This gave Dan and Memphis all the power as they were the only two voters. They decided to evict Renny, as Keesha was much closer to them and less of a wildcard.

Following Renny’s eviction, Dan won Head of Household. Much to Memphis’s dismay, Dan nominated him again to hide their alliance. After Memphis won the final Power of Veto, they decided to evict Keesha as she was more of a competition threat than Jerry was.

Victory[]

Going into the final three, Dan and Memphis just needed to beat Jerry in the final Head of Household competition. After they defeated him in both parts, Dan went on to become the final Head of Household. Dan decided to cast his sole vote to evict on Jerry, leaving Dan and Memphis as the final two. Ultimately, Dan won by a unanimous jury vote of 7-0, crowning him the winner of Big Brother 10 (US).

History[]

Creation[]

Just prior to Britney Haynes' eviction after Dan's infamous funeral, Ian went to Dan in an attempt to reform their larger Quack Pack alliance. Ian went on to win the following HOH competition, and Dan won the POV, and from there they decided to form the second edition of the Renegades.

Attempted Defection[]

Although the alliance was the same in name, Dan's loyalties did not truly lie with Ian at the time, and after winning HOH in the Double Eviction, he put Ian on the block for the first time all season in an attempt to take him out. He covered it up as him being a pawn, stating that in Season 10, he nominated Memphis every time he was HOH in order to hide their alliance. Unaware of the danger he was truly in, Ian went on to win the Veto and the following HOH, meaning Dan's secret plans to take him out were put to a stop, while Ian remained loyal.

The Endgame[]

As the HOH at the Final Five, Ian did not return the favor of nominating Dan, and they both managed to survive into the Final Four, where they ended up nominated next to each other by Danielle Murphree. Danielle then went on to win the Veto, and Dan convinced her to take him off the block, pretending that he was afraid of her showmance Shane Meaney taking a shot at him. In actuality, Dan wanted to take a shot at Shane, not to protect Ian but to ensure that Danielle would take him to the Final Two. His plan was successful, and he and Ian were in the Final Three. Dan convinced Ian to throw Part One of the Final HOH to him, and then he went on to win Part Two against Danielle, leaving the Renegades to face off in Part Three.

Victory[]

Ian beat Dan in the Final HOH and stuck to his word, securing another victory for the Renegades by taking him to the end, where Dan became the first person to reach the Final Two twice. However that feat wasn't enough, and Ian went on to win the game in a 6-1 vote, with Dan only receiving Danielle's vote.

Although Dan claimed during the questioning that he was going to take Danielle to the Final Two, he revealed post-season that he always intended on taking Ian, feeling that he had a better chance against him than Danielle.

Post Big Brother[]

Dan and Memphis have remained close friends years after the finale of Big Brother 10. Memphis even attended Dan's wedding 3 years later. Dan attended Memphis's wedding as well. They were going to appear on Big Brother 13 (US) together as a Dynamic Duo, but they pulled out due to the dates conflicting with Dan's wedding.

Dan and Ian on the other hand while not as close, did remain cordial, with Ian even appearing in Dan's 10 year anniversary livestream for Season 10.

The Renegades saw a brief chance of a second revival, as Memphis and Ian would go on to play together in Big Brother 22 (US) without Dan, but Memphis ended up targeting Ian partially due to the fact that he beat Dan. Memphis ultimately got his wish, voting Ian out in 11th place, before ultimately being taken out himself at the Final Five, ending the chance at a third victory for a Renegade member.

Trivia[]

  • The Renegades is the first alliance to have both of their members reach the final two, due to this it is considered one of the greatest two-person alliances in Big Brother history, alongside The Hitmen and Coast2Coast. They would be followed by The Root, The Black-Ops and The Minutemen.
    • Although initially a fake deal on Dan's part in Season 14, the Renegades were ultimately able to pull this off twice.
