History

Creation

On Week 1 of Big Brother Canada 5, Dre Gwenaelle and William Laprise Desbiens created The French Connection.

A House Divided

Dre and William quickly became pegged as a duo by the rest of the house. Dre and William decided to align with Cassandra Shahinfar and Gary Levy, planning to target The Six. However, The Six was able to gain power and evict Cassandra and Gary. In Week 5, William won HOH. Dre and William had started to align with Demetres Giannitsos and Ika Wong the previous weeks but wanted to solidify it. William started to form a one-sided showmance with Kevin Martin as well. William decided to target the showmance of Dillon Carman and Emily Hawkin and nominated them alongside each other, with the primary target being Dillon. Dre still insisted on targeting Bruno Ielo and she was able to convince William that was their best move. William agreed and after Kevin won the POV, William tried to convince him to use it by telling him Jackie McCurach would be the replacement nominee. However, Kevin caught wind of the real plan and wanted to protect his ally and didn’t use the POV. This angered Dre and William and they were blindsided after Emily was evicted by an 8-1 eviction vote.

Anti-Veteran Strategy

After Neda Kalantar was evicted in the Double Eviction, Dre and William decided to set their targets on the remaining veterans. Initially, this was successful as they were able to convince Dillon and Demetres to target and evict Sindy Nguyen and Bruno. Dre started to align and grow closer to Jackie McCurach. After Kevin won HOH and targeted Demetres and Ika, Dre suddenly changed her mind on targeting all the veterans after Ika and her shared an emotional moment. This caused the alliance to change their targets to Demetres. However, after Demetres won the POV and saved himself and Kevin nominated Jackie, Dre and William were left in a tough position. Dre had recently grown closer to Jackie and she was a newbie, but had been aligned with Ika for longer. After Ika caught wind of Dre considering not keeping her. Ika decided to call out Dre as her target in her eviction speech. Jackie was evicted by a vote of 4-1.

Defeat

It was announced to the houseguests that it would be a Triple Eviction. After Demetres won HOH, he nominated Dre and William alongside Kevin. After Kevin won the POV, Dre and William’s fates were sealed as they received 0 votes to stay and subsequently were simultaneously evicted.
