On the very first night, Shanna became part of the Girls & Gays alliance with Carson Kressley, Cynthia Bailey and Todrick Hall. By the end of the first week, she realized her alliance had all become safe, except for her. Desperate to avoid being the first evicted, she approached HoH Miesha Tate and offered her loyalty, a gambit that worked when Teddi Mellencamp was put up instead of her. The deal also got her in good with the new Athlete's Alliance, alongside her No. 1 ally, Chris Kirkpatrick. The two were set to play the middle while the other two sides continued to take shots at each other. Even when Shanna won her first veto on Chris’ HoH, they decided not to go through with the proposed move of backdooring Todrick.
The next round, Shanna had the veto once more, and Carson was in trouble. Chris approached her with a risky maneuver: Use the veto on Carson, and officially go against Miesha and Todrick. She did so, and it got Chris put up and booted in the process. But both he and Shanna were still satisfied with what happened, as she could continue forward as part of a strong trio with Carson and Cynthia. When Carson won the next HoH, it seemed like Miesha would finally be evicted. However, Miesha and Todrick refused to go down without a fight, with Todrick making a huge effort to talk Carson out of targeting either one of them. He told Carson and Cynthia about Shanna working with them, embellishing that she had no loyalties and was playing everyone. And stunningly, Carson and Cynthia believed every word Todrick had said. Despite what Shanna using the veto to save Carson the week prior, they were convinced she wasn’t on their side. And so the entire house got in on a new plan, turning their targets away from each other and onto Shanna. Shanna was then put on the block and evicted in a unanimous 4-0 vote, yelling to Todrick on the way out that she’d make sure the jury didn’t vote for him.
On Finale Night, Shanna was nominated for America’s Favorite Houseguest alongside Carson and Lamar Odom, but lost to Carson.
In the modern era of Big Brother where the veto players are selected by random draw, Shanna is the highest placing houseguest to get backdoored.
Barring re-entry, seventh place is the highest possible finish for someone to get truly backdoored, as they must then be the only person sitting out of the Power of Veto Competition, before being named as a replacement nominee and subsequently evicted.
Shanna always voted with the majority
Shanna won every Power of Veto competition she played in.
