Rita Ibinohasi Gaviola was a teen housemate in Pinoy Big Brother 7.
Rita is dubbed as "The Badjao Girl of Lucena" because of her ethnic background. She is a Badjao native. She was photographed by a photographer during the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon which caught the attention of the public due to her unique indigenous features. Her photo went viral and she was given the moniker Badjao Girl by the people in social media.
In the house, she was known as being the youngest sister among her fellow teen housemates as well as being a sensitive person due to her young age. Despite from that, she was also known to be a caring and a loving girl among her fellow housemates.
On Week 8, she was nominated by the housemates for being oversensitive, at the end of the week, she competed in the Ligtask but lost, making her the second teen housemate to get evicted.

The Badjao Girl of Lucena
Rita Gaviola or popularly known as “Badjao Girl” is one of the lucky teen housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Season 7 and before entering the famous yellow house, she shared her life even before gaining attention from the public because of her viral photos.
The 13-year old teen housemate said that she was still young when they moved to Manila. She has five other siblings and only 4 of them are studying. Her family traveled from Zamboanga all the way to Lucena City in Quezon.
She helps her mother do some household chores whenever she’s free from school. Rita also goes out to beg when she’s not doing anything. Then one day, everything changed when Topher Quinto Burgo candidly photographed her during the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon. Her photo soon went viral.
“I felt so lucky that I was the one who was photographed and I never thought that it will change my family's life” she said.
Rita’s father works as a garbage man while her mother is a stay at home mom.[1]

- Rita is the first ever housemate in the history of Pinoy Big Brother that belongs to an Indigenous Group.
- Rita belongs to Badjao people, who are one of the most discriminated and displaced ethnic groups in Southeast Asia, historically up to the present. However, her entry to the house and with the help of Big Brother himself, gave the viewers a deeper and positive perspective among the Badjao natives living in the country.
- She's one of the youngest housemates to enter the Big Brother house in this season, at age 13.
