Repetitive Task Punishment is a recurring punishment in Big Brother. It results from a Power of Veto competition. A HouseGuest who receives this punishment is required to complete a large number of repetitive actions within a limited time frame. Usually if they are unable to complete it they would be ineligible to compete in the next Head of Household or Veto competition. It is usually won in the Yankee Swap competition.
History[]
Big Brother 16 (US)[]
Cody Calafiore received a punishment called penalty kick. This forced him to pull a lever which caused a show to kick him in the butt. For 24 hours, any time a whistle would blow, Cody had to pull the lever 10 times.
Brittany Martinez received a punishment that tasked her with kicking 2,400 soccer goals in just 24 hours. She was not able to go inside until she completed the mission and failing it would result in her having to sit out the next Veto competition.
Big Brother 17 (US)[]
Shelli Poole had to perform a regimen with a sword 2,400 times in 24 hours. If she failed, then she would be ineligible to compete in the next Veto competition.
Big Brother 20 (US)[]
Rockstar Lantry received a punishment after the Week 6 Power of Veto competition that required her to wear a ridiculous chef costume and embrace a unique “fitness food” regimen. For a full week, she had to blend special health shakes using a basket of provided food items, drink them, and then run laps around the backyard—leaping over small hurdles as part of the routine. The punishment lasted until her eviction, and she even gave her eviction speech while still in costume. The theme and instructions came from Jessie Godderz, contributing to the season's fitness-oriented punishment theme.
Big Brother 22 (US)[]
Bayleigh Dayton received the Triathlete Punishment, requiring her to complete 500 laps on a tricycle within 12 hours. If she failed, she would lose the chance to compete in the next Veto competition.
Big Brother 25 (US)[]
Izzy Gleicher and Cameron Hardin were dressed in piggy costumes and had to perform a demanding task in the backyard throughout the night. Their task involved making a total of 2,000 trips carrying dirt from one side of the backyard to another. Each trip was counted as two when they walked together. They used small mugs to scoop dirt from a pile, carried it to a trough, and then repeated the process.
Big Brother 26 (US)[]
Angela Murray faced a grueling task in the backyard, with 12 hours to retrieve 1,000 ping pong balls, one at a time, and deliver them to a container. The challenge required relentless back-and-forth trips across the yard. To make things more difficult, Angela had to periodically submerge herself in a slime bath for decontamination. If she failed to complete the task within the time limit, she would lose her eligibility to compete in the next Head of Household competition.
Big Brother 27 (US)[]
Zach Cornell and Rachel Reilly had to complete a punishment task called "Partners in Crime." For the task, they wore prisoner outfits and sat in a small jail cell. When a siren sounded, they had 12 hours to retrieve all the $25,000 money bags from a safe, carry it to a table, and open it. Only four bags contained actual fake cash, while the rest contained exploding blue goop bombs that would splatter on them. After opening the bag, they had to return to the jail cell and wait for the next siren to repeat the process. Despite getting repeatedly splattered with the blue goop, Zach and Rachel were able to complete the task early.
