Pressure Cooker is a recurring Head of Household and Power of Veto competition. What's The Hold Up is viewed as a variation of this competition.
Rules[]
In this competition, contestants are sequestered in a very uncomfortable enclosed setting, ranging from a small room, a glass box, or some other type of strange enclosure. The rules being simple, in that the winner who is the last person remaining inside, will win. At any time, a contestant wants out of the Pressure Cooker, they are immediately eliminated from the challenge. To make the challenge somewhat more unnerving, contestants usually are not permitted to sit or lie down, and are also told to keep their hands continually on the wall, or pressing a button (otherwise they would be immediately eliminated from the Pressure Cooker). Contestants are not allowed any rest breaks during the challenge. In some cases, even if contestants are eliminated from the competition, either by forfeiting or breaking a technical rule during the challenge (such as sitting down or taking their hands off the wall/button) until a set number of contestants are also eliminated from the challenge, they are still restricted inside the pressure cooker challenge location. If a contestant is eliminated from the Pressure cooker, either a prize will be awarded, or a punishment (usually making the Pressure Cooker challenge more difficult, such as loud noises and music, contestants being sprayed with water, bugs and insects being leashed into the pressure cooker etc.) will be sent out. The last contestant remaining inside the pressure cooker wins.
