Creation[]
The Phalanx 5 was formed on night 1 of the season very shortly after the live feeds turned on. The group was talking in the gym area about exercising and eating healthy while in the house. Luke Valentine came up with the name of the alliance. The "Phalanx" name comes from the formation of ancient Greek warfare which includes spears and shields.
Lack of Trust[]
Due to alliance’s creation very early in the game, the majority of the members did not view this alliance as a real alliance. Later that night, Jared Fields went to share the news about the alliance to Izzy Gleicher, as well as his concerns. Jared and Izzy mutually agree on that Kirsten Elwin should not be trusted. Jared also went up to Cirie Fields and discussed the newly formed alliance and how Kirsten is moving too fast around the house. Cirie then shares the news to Felicia Cannon and realize that Kirsten has both went up to them privately to discuss about working with them.
Destruction[]
After Reilly Smedley won the first Head of Household of the season, it was revealed that instead of her making her own nominations, Reilly would save two of the nominees. Despite it seemingly looking like an easy decision for Reilly to save the two members in the alliance that were on the block, many houseguests pitched to Reilly for Kirsten to be the target that week for her seemingly playing too hard too fast. Reilly complied with the decision and left Kirsten on the block. Kirsten was blindsided by the decision as she had assumed Reilly would save her. Reilly’s defection along with Luke Valentine’s ejection and Jared and Matt Klotz defecting to form other relationships, resulted in Kirsten’s unanimous eviction later that week, thus officially ending the alliance.

- Matt is the only alliance member to not be eliminated pre-jury.
