Initially set to enter the house on Day 5 of the show, Paolo's entry was delayed due to his poor health. Mediaset later revealed that he would enter the house on Day 8. However, on Day 8, host Alfonso Signorini revealed that Paolo had been infected with COVID-19 and would enter the game at a later date.
On October 30, 2020, Mediaset announced that Paolo would enter the house on Day 47.
Soon after his entry, Paolo started to inform the other houseguests of news and events from the outside world, breaking the rules of the game.
He had to face public vote as a punishment, and was eliminated on Day 57.
