Monte Taylor is the runner-up of Big Brother 24 (US).

Monte started the game quietly and wasn't targeted much. He was able to solidify relationships among many of his housemates during the early game, including Joseph Abdin, Matt Turner and Pooch Pucciarelli. After joining the new dominant alliance The Leftovers, Monte was able to have a better position in that alliance as they were able to evict many outsiders throughout the game. After winning the Final Six Power of Veto competition, he was able to convince Head of Household and ally Turner to place very strong player Michael Bruner on the block so they could finally evict him, in which they were successful in doing so.

Monte was then able to have a string of both HoH and PoV competition wins until Finale Night when he as the Final HoH decided to take Taylor Hale to the Final Two over Turner, thinking that Turner's competition wins and evicting him was a greater look on his resume. This was his undoing as he misread Taylor's social relationships, persistence and underdog status, which the jury viewed as impressive. After Taylor gave a powerful speech encapsulating her journey throughout the season, the jury awarded her the win by a vote 8-1, with only Turner voting for Monte to win.

What’s the best advice you received before coming out to play?
Just to be myself. The biggest thing around going into this atmosphere where you're meeting a bunch of different people is just to stay true to myself. So I plan on doing that throughout this whole summer, not altering or changing who I am. Because that's going to be the best version of me.

What do you think people will perceive you as?
I'm 6'4", 235 pounds, in decent shape. I think, just based off of my looks and my energy, people are probably going to think all I do is go out and work out all day. They'll think I'm not too much of a person of high intellect. But little do they know about my mechanical engineering degree and all of the books that I've read and things of that nature. They'll just think of me as a tall hunk of muscle. (Laughs.)

What types of players would you least want in your alliance?
People that are very chatty, who like to talk a lot about the things that you've said in private to others. To me, in an alliance, the biggest thing is trust and loyalty. So if what's talked about within the alliance stays within the alliance, then that'll make sure that we can advance our game even further.

What’s something the other houseguests may dislike about you?
I think other house guests may dislike the fact that I'm very positive. I tend not to get into any drama or entertain a lot of that stuff. I also keep my cards pretty close to my chest, so I don't share too much. And I don't plan on sharing too much about how I maybe feel about certain situations just to stay out of the mix on a lot of things. So that may be something that they don't like about me, the fact that they may not be able to read me all that well.

On eviction night, would you rather flip the votes against the house to help your individual game, or go with the house to help your overall alliance?
I'd rather go with the house to help my overall alliance. The reason for that is because I don't think that it would behoove the situation to flip the house if my alliance has a lot of trust and a lot of loyalty already built in. So to make sure that that trust and loyalty continue throughout the entire summer, I want to make sure that I'm going with the alliance to make sure that we continue to advance our game.[1]
