Joseph Ammar Abdin was a houseguest on Big Brother 24 (US).

A last-minute replacement player in the house, Joseph was known for his social game, close friendship with Taylor Hale and his major role in forming the dominant alliance of that season, The Leftovers. While starting off as a very quiet player, his relationships in the house helped him gain footing to the game and deduce that Ameerah Jones was the one who orchestrated Pooch's eviction on Week 2. This helped create The Leftovers that would later blindside Ameerah on Week 3 and pick off the outsiders of that alliance in subsequent weeks. He often played double agent to gain information from the other side of the house to benefit The Leftovers and formed faux alliances such as The Five Swatters. When the Split House Double Eviction twist was unleashed during Week 7, Joseph was separated from his closest allies such as Taylor and Monte Taylor and was immediately targeted by Head of Household Terrance Higgins, who felt threatened by Joseph's relationship with Monte. His ally Kyle Capener decided to betray him and exposed The Leftovers to Alyssa Snider and Terrance, who were the outsiders of that alliance. While Joseph campaigned hard for his safety in the game, this was not enough as he got evicted by a vote of 2-0.

On Finale Night, he voted for his closest ally Taylor to win the game, which led to her historic victory for being the first Black woman to win a mainline season of Big Brother by a vote of 8-1.

Occupation: Lawyer

What’s the best advice you received before coming out to play?
Put yourself out there. Try new things. Take opportunities, take risks. You never know where you can end up. And make sure you can keep going and trying new things.

What do you think people will perceive you as?
I think people are gonna perceive me as all brawn, no brain. It's a theme I've gotten throughout my life. Most likely, they're gonna look at me as just a physical threat and nothing more.

What types of players would you least want in your alliance?
Definitely untrustworthy, unstrategic, loud, huge targets on their backs. People who aren't moving stealthily, just moving to move with no strategy behind their game.

What’s something the other houseguests may dislike about you?
I eat a lot of food. I'm definitely gonna eat! (Laughs.) To the point where they're not gonna be able to eat as much. I'm also always working out, whether it's yoga, meditation, or weightlifting. I don't really sleep, so it can be annoying for other people if they want to get some rest and I'm doing something.

On eviction night, would you rather flip the votes against the house to help your individual game, or go with the house to help your overall alliance?
That's a good question. Probably go with my alliance. In Big Brother, there's only one winner. But you don't get to the end alone. From the beginning I would definitely work with my alliances.[1]
