James Zinkand was a houseguest on Big Brother 9 (US).
Known by the moniker "Crazy James," he was well-liked by the rest of the house for his outgoing and wacky personality. James developed a close bond with his soulmate Chelsia Hart and the two found early success when they won the Week 2 Head of Household competition and successfully evicted house pariahs Alex Coladonato and Amanda Hansen. After the couple spilt, James initially formed an alliance with Adam Jasinski, Ryan Quicksall, and Matt McDonald, who all devised a plan to evict Sharon Obermueller in Week 4. However, James would eventually jump ship and join an alliance with Chelsia, Sharon, Joshuah Welch, and Sheila Kennedy, who all planned to convince Head of Household Ryan to backdoor Matt. However, after Sheila became offended by Chelsia, she convinced Ryan not to target Matt. Ultimately, the target fell onto James, who was nominated after Chelsia used the Veto to save herself and was evicted by the end of the week in a 5-1 vote against Sharon, with only Chelsia voting to keep him. After he was successfully backdoored, James was voted back into the game only minutes after leaving the house by a 5-3 vote in an unexpected twist, beating fellow evicted houseguest Alex Coladonato (whose identity was a mystery to the other houseguests). James became a huge threat upon his return, winning one Head of Household competition and three consecutive Power of Veto competitions. After failing to win the Power of Veto in Week 8, James was finally evicted by a unanimous 3-0 vote, placing 6th and becoming the fourth member of the Jury.
Due to his likability throughout the season and underdog status upon his return, James won the $25,000 America's Choice Jury Prize at the end of the season with 20.5% of the public vote.
