Jürgen Hans Milski is the runner-up of Big Brother Germany 1. He later competed on Promi Big Brother 11.
His friendship with Zlatko Trpkovski made them early favorites of the first season until they were nominated against each other in week 5. Due to chants over the fence, the housemates got a clue of who was well liked and who was not. When Sabrina Lange entered halfway through the season, his status as audience favorite was confirmed by her obvious affiliation towards him. His simple-minded hard working image as loyal family father proved to resonate with a big part of the audience as well as his image of a "Kölsche Frohnatur". In discussions with younger housemates, he proved to be rather conservative and provoked Manuela Schick to burst out in tears. He constantly referred to her then-boyfriend (a person of color) with a discriminated turn. However, in the end he was narrowly beaten by the rather quiet, laid-back John Milz, who defeated him to the surprise of many.
He used his popularity on the show to start a career as a Schlager-singer and unlike Zlatko, he managed to establish himself in the business. Alongside season 2 winner Alida Kurras he became the host of a Call-In show and also returned to Big Brother as a co-host.[1][2]
Over the years he shared views that were interpreted as xenophobic and conservative.[3]
When he returned on Promi Big Brother 11, he was positive to achieve what he did not manage 23 years early in winning the game. However, it was the same chauvinist persona that he put on during his first stay in the house, that made him clash with Paulina Ljubas. During a live show the fight escalated with Jürgen calling Paulina "Suppenhuhn" (soup chicken). Unlike as in 2000, the audience did not support his behavior and he was evicted after 11 days following in the footsteps of Zlatko, who also did not manage to win over the hearts of the audience when he competed on Promi Big Brother 7.
