- Hughie announced his engagement to fellow housemate, Ryan Ruckledge, on September 26, 2016.[2]
- Hughie appeared on the Irish version of Dancing with the Stars.[3] He was the first celebrity to be eliminated.[4]
- Ryan tweeted on April 26, 2017 announcing that he had broken up with Hughie.[5]

- Hughie competed on The Challenge: Spies, Lies & Allies[6] alongside Big Brother (US) contestants Amber Borzotra, Josh Martinez, Fessy Shafaat, Kaycee Clark and Big Brother Nigeria 4 contestants Esther Agunbiade and Symply Tacha.[7] As a Global Agent, he chose Ashley Mitchell as his American partner for the season. In Episode 4, after winning his Elimination, Hughie chose to separate himself from Ashley and Infiltrate Gabo Szabó and Nany González's parntership, stealing Nany from Gabo and making her his new partner. However in Episode 5, Logan Sampedro stole Nany from Hughie, leaving him with Emy Alupei as a partner. And then in Episode 7, Emy chose a new partner, leaving Hughie with Berna Canbeldek. They ended up getting eliminated in Episode 8.
- Hughie competed on The Challenge: Battle for a New Champion alongside Big Brother 23 (US) contestant Kyland Young and HaAh HaGadol VIP 3 winner Asaf Goren. He ended up getting eliminated in Episode 4.
