Well-spoken when expressing himself and determined with his goals, the physiotherapist Guilherme, 27 years old, from Olinda, Pernambuco, never stops dreaming and caring.

Today, he works mainly with the elderly, and says that the choice came naturally, mainly because of his good relationship with his grandmothers and because he enjoys being around older people. “I like the conversation, the atmosphere, the stories they tell me.”

As a teenager, he played handball and joined the Pernambuco national team for his age group from 14 to 16. At the same time, he also played for a club and represented his school, in a routine filled with sports. In addition to his aptitude for the sport, he says he did all this because he saw an opportunity to help his mother and have more opportunities.

“I saw sport as my profession because it was a way for me to avoid paying for school and have something left over for the family,” he says, who, thanks to scholarships as an athlete, was able to study at good schools in Olinda.^[1]
