Batch 2 is the second batch to air in Pinoy Big Brother: Otso.
Background[]
Batch 2 is known for being the most talked-about batch [1], due to Loudre's relationship [2], Apey Obera & Mark Obera's reunion, and Mitch Talao's transgender wedding in the house. It was also notable for its physical challenges, such as the Pinoy Big Battle against Camp Star Hunt wherein they had a military training under the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
André Brouillette, Fumiya Sankai, Lou Yanong, and Yamyam Gucong were declared as the Batch Big Four, with Yamyam emerging as the Batch Winner. Batch 2 Big Four later returned for the Ultim8 Batch to compete with other Batch Big Fours.
Batch 2 is represented by Team LAYF, with green as its batch color, and #Batch2getherForever as the official codename.
Twists[]
- All starts in Camp: Unlike Batch 1, Batch 2 started with 16 Star Dreamers in Camp Star Hunt divided into two groups. A task determined whoa among the 16 will be selected by Big Brother as the first 8 housemates to cross-over.
- Two Camps: The premiere of Batch 2 introduced two camps, namely Camp A and Camp B for the Star Dreamers. After the first 8 Official Adult Housemates were selected on Day 60, the Camp B was closed and its remaining occupants moved to the main Camp.
- Batch 2 Housemate Selection: For this batch, the Housemate Selection will be determined by Big Brother himself.
- Ultim8 Star Dreamer Challenge: To challenge the Star Dreamers and to see which among them deserves the first 8 slot, Big Brother gave them a special challenge.
- Big Brother's Choice: Unlike the first batch where the viewers determine who becomes official housemates, this batch had Big Brother himself choosing which among the eligible Star Dreamer deserved to cross-over and become an Official Housemate.
- Estranged Siblings: In a twist similar to Project DNA of Big Brother 5 (US), two estranged contestants Apey Obera and Mark Obera entered the house without any knowledge who their long lost relative is.
- Star Dreamer Dismissal: During Batch 2, a Star Dreamer from the Camp Star Hunt had the risk of being dismissed and be fully eliminated out of the game. If a Star Dreamer ranked the lowest thrice, he/she would be dismissed. However, if two or more Star Dreamers tied for having three lowest rankings, the other Star Dreamers would vote on which one must be saved.
- 8 Weeks to 88 Days extension: The original 8-week duration of Batch 2 was officially extended to 88 Days or 12 weeks.
- Face to Face Nominations: During Week 15, all of the housemates would nominate face-to-face to each other. However, the official nominees wouldn't be revealed on the same day as the Top 3 housemates who received the highest points were eventually appointed to be leaders for their team.
- Nomination Competition: Right after the Face to Face Nominations, the rest of the housemates randomly picked a team they would belong to. These three teams would compete in a series of challenges throughout the week. Only 1 Team would be able to win victorious and safe while the two other teams will face the Double Eviction.
- Double Eviction: On Week 15, the 7th Week of the 1st Adult Batch, two housemates would be evicted in the 4th Adult Eviction Night.
- Fake Finale Week: In a similar twist in Pinoy Big Brother: All In, the remaining housemates would compete in a series of challenges thinking it would be their final week in the house, several housemates would be evicted until the fake Big Four would be determined. At the end of the week, all fake evicted housemates would return to the house as nominees of the week. The fake Big Four would only receive immunity for the week. In this batch, the twist occurred on Week 16, the eight and the supposed final week of the batch and the extension was still kept secret from the housemates.
- The Duel Week: On Week 16, the 8th Week of the 2nd Batch, the Housemates would compete in a series of Duel Challenges throughout the week. There are four duel challenges and in each duel, only two players would compete; the challenger and the challenger's choice to compete against him/her. A challenger must be the first one to volunteer and pick the housemate he wants to duel and challenged housemate couldn't refuse once picked. The winner of each duel will be safe while the loser would be evicted out of the house.
- Fake Eviction: The twist was revealed after the losing housemate of the first duel was thought to be evicted. It was revealed that the eviction was not real and the duel is just a process for nominations thus the losing housemates would only be part of Week 16's set of nominees and not officially evicted. However, the fake evictees would stay in a special place outside the house until the Duel Challenges finally ended.
- Pinoy Big Battle: On Week 17, Star Dreamers and Official Housemates would face a series of challenges against each other in a week of intense military training by the Armed Forces of the Philippines. If the Star Dreamers win, one of them would be crossing over for the final time, putting all Official Housemates up for eviction. If the Housemates win, there will be no eviction at the end of the week and no more cross-overs would occur.

Week 15 | Dancem8tes ni Kuya (Big Brother's Dancem8tes) Big Brother divided the house into three groups appointingAndré Brouillette, Joachim Regalado and William Gucong the three housemate who got the highest nomination points in the Face-to-Face Nominations as the leaders of the three groups. Each group with their assigned dance genre, must choreograph a dance performance while using an aparatus floating high up in the air. Their performance will be scored by a set of celebrity judges. A group can attain a maximum of 24 points (8 points being the highest score given by one judge). But since Team Andre won the special task challenge given by Big Brother, they received an additional score of 4 points. The group to receive the highest total points will sit on immunity chairs, meaning they will be exempted from the upcoming double eviction for the week. On the other hand, the two groups to receive the total lowest points will be automatically nominated and will be the week's set of nominees. Since JC Gamez was exempted throughout the week for being a new cross-over, his team's performance won't affect his exemption status. Team Andre (Femme) |

Week 16 | Duel Challenge #1 |
Cue Ball Relay The challengers have to transfer three balls one-by-one into an elevated container by transporting it into a transparent tube that could only be raised by pulling the strings attached to it with the use of their feet. The quickest one to accomplish it would be the winner. |

Both pairs have a Freeze power to stop their opponents from finishing their blocks and attempting to destroy what they had already constructed. If a Housemate pair wins, both of them will proceed to the next level round. Otherwise, the Housemate pair would have to decide which of them will proceed to the next level of the challenge and which of them will be automatically nominated. |

Batch 2[]
- This is the first batch with housemates entering the house with a prior knowledge to the main format of the game, unlike in the first Batch where the theme and Camp Star Hunt remained secret for the original 8 Official Housemates who entered until on Week 5.
- Batch 2 is the first batch where all contestants started in the Camp as Star Dreamers.
- Batch 2 is the first batch to have 2 Camps for the Camp Star Hunt.
- Mitch Talao becomes the first housemate to get married inside the Big Brother House.
- Her wedding is possibly the first real-life LGBT wedding to be covered and aired on Philippine television.
- Batch 2's Big Four emerged to be the most dominant out of all batches after they got 3 of 8 Big Otso slots during the Back to House part of the season and eventually winning the season.
