The Battle of the Block competition is a competition in Big Brother 16 (US). The twist was reintroduced as a "fan favorite" during the premiere of Big Brother 17 (US). The two pairs of nominees must compete against each other in a specifically themed competition. The winning pair would be safe from eviction for the week and would also dethrone the Head of Household that nominated them, leaving the other as the sole Head of Household. It replaced the Have/Have-Not Competition in the early part of the game.

The first Battle of the Block competition was won by Brittany Martinez and Victoria Rafaeli, who were nominated by Frankie Grande, dethroning him and defeating Donny Thompson and Paola Shea.
Week 2[]

The second Battle of the Block competition was won by the Nicole Franzel and Hayden Voss, who were nominated by Amber Borzotra, dethroning her and defeating Brittany Martinez and Paola Shea.

The third Battle of the Block competiton was won by Amber Borzotra and Donny Thompson, who were nominated by Nicole Franzel, dethroning her and defeating Caleb Reynolds and Jocasta Odom.
