In Big Brother Portugal 9, Fábio started off the game well, becoming the Head of House, which granted him immunity and made him the leader of the house for the first week. However, his leadership was seen as severely lacking, leading to him being nominated the next week. Despite being the center of attention of the second week, it turned out to be his downfall after he was involved in a love triangle with Jéssica Galhofas and Francisco Vale. With the public favoring the relationship between Jéssica and Francisco and with Mariana Pinto's boyfriend actively campaigning on social media for him to be evicted, Fábio became the second contestant eliminated from the season.
