The Elite Eight was the early dominant alliance on Big Brother 4 (US).

Upon learning that some of the houseguests' ex-lovers were coming into the house as the season's main twist, the first eight houseguests who entered quickly formed an alliance to counter the twist and subsequently eliminate the exes. While they were initially successful in evicting their targets, distrust and in-fighting finally caused a major breakdown by Week 4. At that time, Dana Varela won Head of Household and betrayed the "Elite Eight" by jumping ship to the rival faction, the Three Stooges. Her ally Jun Song joined her, and together they unsuccessfully targeted Alison Irwin and Nathan Marlow.

Although the alliance further deteriorated in following weeks, former Elite members Alison, Erika, and Jun solidified a new alliance. This partnership allowed them to eliminate all remaining exes, ultimately granting victory to Jun, with Alison as the runner-up. This outcome unintentionally fulfilled the Elite Eight's original goal of outlasting all their rival exes, as the remnants of their alliance retained endgame control.

History[]

Creation[]

Shortly after they entered the house, the original eight houseguests were informed that some of them would be living with one of their "exes". After they heard the news, the houseguests all agreed to stick together and try to get the exes out of the house.

Fallout[]

The alliance started off very strong in the game, with Nathan Marlow becoming the first Head of Household and evicting Amanda Craig. Cracks in the alliance started to form when Dana Varela began a showmance with Justin Giovinco. After Jee Choe nominated Erika Landin and Michelle Maradie, the alliance should have had the numbers easily to take out Michelle, however, many members were debating it, such as Dana who was close with Justin, Jun who was close with Dana, and Nathan who had an alliance with Michelle. The alliance was able to stick together through the vote and Michelle was evicted by a vote of 6-2. After Dana won HoH, she betrayed the alliance and her and Jun decided to join and work with the Three Stooges, and Dana nominated Alison Irwin and Jack Owens, Jr., with Alison being the target. After Nathan won the Power of Veto, Alison was able to convince him to veto her, and subsequently David was nominated and evicted. After Alison won HoH, she began to play both sides, cutting a deal with the Three Stooges, and still having the rest of the alliance trust her, this left just three undefected members left. Alison targeted Dana, and nominated her alongside Jun, despite the alliance wanting Justin targeted.

Revival[]

Main article: Girl Power

During Week 7 in the house, the alliance resurrected itself in the form of Girl Power. It formed after Alison and Jun decided to flip against Jack, and keep Erika, Jee’s target. The alliance managed to finish off what the Elite Eight had been aiming to do throughout the whole season - evict the exes.

Victory[]

The Elite Eight was victorious in the end when Alison won the final Head of Household and decided to take Jun to the finale with her. After received six votes from the jury of seven, Jun was crowned the winner of Big Brother 4 (US).

Trivia[]
