David began the game in a strong position, being in near the top of the Elite Eight alliance, while also maintaining good relationships with the other houseguests. During Week 2, David won the Power of Veto, and despite being aligned with Erika Landin, David knew he had the votes to save her anyways, and thus chose not to use it. David’s analysis was correct as his ex, Michelle Maradie, was evicted instead. After Dana Varela won Head of Household, and betrayed the Elite Eight, David still seemed to be in a good position, as he was not in any immediate danger as Dana chose to target Alison Irwin and Nathan Marlow instead. After Nathan won the POV and vetoed Alison, Dana replaced her with David, as she saw him as a social and competition threat and as a retaliation on Nathan's dismantling of her eviction plans. Despite campaigns from the rest of his alliance, David was evicted by a vote of 5-2, placing 10th.
David Lane (born 1982) was a 21-year-old former Army ranger from Deerfield Beach, Florida. His ex-girlfriend, Michelle Maradie, was also a HouseGuest due to the "X-Factor" twist.
