Cody Lee Nickson[1] was a houseguest on Big Brother 19 (US).

Cody was unhappy about veteran Paul Abrahamian returning to the game. He managed to win the Safety Competition on Day 1, granting him immunity from the first eviction. In Week 1, he had won the Head of Household competition and nominated Megan Lowder and Jillian Parker, with Megan as his target, and he would then form a large showmance alliance and start to run the house. After Megan suffered a PTSD attack and walked from the house, Cody then nominated Alex Ow, as he was pressured by his allies to do so, but not wanting to see her leave, Cody threw the POV to Alex, causing a stir with his allies. After attempting to backdoor Paul, Paul showed off his Pendant of Protection, a gift temptation guaranteeing him three weeks of safety. Cody then turned his back on another alliance member, Christmas Abbott, nominating her for her close affiliation with Paul, but Cody's HOH failed when Paul flipped Kevin Schlehuber and Josh Martinez against him by evicting Jillian. For a short time, Cody tried to stay in the house, but after Paul made him the replacement nominee at the Week 2 Veto Meeting, Cody knew he was going home, and started planting a seed in Paul's mind that would make him go after two of his ex-allies, Dominique Cooper and Mark Jansen, instead of targeting his showmance partner Jessica Graf. Cody was then evicted in a 7-3-0 vote.

Cody had successfully won the Battle Back Competition against the other three evictees and had also defeated House Challenger Paul, whom the house had voted as Cody's challenger. Afterward, Cody let Jessica do a majority of the talking and reasoning. In Week 6, Cody won the Temptation Competition that granted him immunity for the week, though a large blowup with Josh Martinez resulted in Jessica getting evicted. Cody then formed a close friendship with Kevin. When Alex won the HOH the following week, the house had the (successful) plan to backdoor him, and he was evicted during the first half of the first Double Eviction in a unanimous 7-0-0 vote, placing 11th and becoming the first member of the jury.

On finale night, he won America's Favorite Houseguest.

I think if a bunch of people are on a different sleep schedule and making noise while I'm trying to sleep, it will be difficult. I like my eight hours of sleep a night. However, if I need to be in the mix, I will stay up with everyone to always gain the appropriate intel.

"Evel" Dick Donato from Season 8. I LOVE it when someone plays the game in a way that has never been seen before—and it works!
Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
Yes. First off, the overbearing Houseguests will expose themselves, which should create a nice divide. The ones talking their game out loud, I would shoot for them first. After getting rid of them, the floaters go next. If you float, you're getting voted out. I want to face warriors and champions to the end, not some tagalong. After that, [I'll try to] win every competition, which I have the ability to do, if it's individual. If there's a way to accomplish these things through influence and by causing someone else to execute my moves, I'll make that happen. If I have to gain the HOH position and do it myself, I will absolutely do that, too. I will never put myself in a pawn position. I will always be a part of every conversation I can and ask questions but avoid inserting my opinion directly. I'll always do it in a roundabout way, making people believe it's their opinion.

Cody & Jessica's promotion shot for the Amazing Race 30

  • After receiving their post-show memorabilia care packages from Big Brother, Cody took the friendship bracelet given to Jessica by Paul during Week 1 and used scissors to cut it into many small pieces. He subsequently threw it in the trash, but not before asking Jessica if she thought it would flush down the toilet.
  • Cody and his showmance Jessica Graf competed on the 30th season of the Amazing Race.[3] The couple won the second leg and $2,500 each. Cody & Jessica ultimately won the race. They are the first BB alumni to win another reality show after competing on Big Brother.[4]
  • Cody returned to cameo in a musical number in the premiere HOH competition of Celebrity Big Brother 1 (US) alongside former houseguests Rachel Reilly, Jodi Rollins, Paul Abrahamian, Jessica Graf, and Jessie Godderz.[5]
  • On Valentine's Day 2018, Cody proposed to Jessica, who accepted.[6]
  • Cody and Jessica returned to host the second POV competition of Big Brother 20 (US).
  • On September 5, 2018, Cody was nominated for 2018 E! People's Choice Awards for The Competition Contestant 2018, due to winning The Amazing Race 30.[7]
  • On September 24, 2018, Cody and Jessica announced that Jessica is 11 weeks pregnant with their first child together, and Cody's second overall.[8][9]
    • On March 17, 2019, Jessica gave birth to their daughter Maverick Nickson.[10]
  • Jessica & Cody got married on October 14, 2018. Casting director Robyn Kass officiated the wedding. Big Brother Alumni Corey Brooks, Elena Davies, Mark Jansen, James Maslow, and Marissa Jaret Winokur and fellow The Amazing Race 30 team Alex Rossi and Conor Daly attended the ceremony.[11]
  • On November 29, 2019, Cody and Jessica started a coffee company known as Couple's Coffee Co..[12]
  • On May 6, 2020, Cody and Jessica announced that Jessica was pregnant with their second child together.[13][14]
    • On October 5, 2020, Jessica gave birth to their daughter Carter York Nickson.[15]
  • On April 16, 2022, Cody and Jessica announced that Jessica was pregnant with their third child together.[16]
    • On July 16, 2022, Jessica gave birth to their third daughter Atlas Ruby Nickson.[17]
  • On July 10, 2023, Cody and Jessica announced that Jessica was pregnant with their fourth child together.[18]
