Disoriented, that was the word Cléber chose when he found out he had been selected for BBB 25. Born in Jequié, Bahia – a city located 365 km from Salvador –, the 24-year-old Geography teacher had plenty of reasons to feel that way. After all, he was confined on the day he received the call for a public exam for which he had been approved a few years ago. “I'm going to be a teacher in the State of Bahia”, he repeated a few times out loud, making it clear how proud he was of his achievement.
After all, studying has always been his guiding principle. Raised in the interior of Bahia by his grandmother while his mother tried to make a living in Salvador, he had a humble childhood. Faced with such a lack of opportunities, he focused on what would be his springboard to a new life: school. “I never missed class, not even when it rained. I would put my sneakers in a plastic bag and wear sandals to the school gates.”[1]
