Big Brother Célébrités 2 is the second season of Celebrity Big Brother in Canada.
Background[]
After being the most watched show on Noovo during 2021, Noovo announced on July 5, 2021 that a second season of the show would air in the beginning of 2022.[1]
Twists[]
- Invisible Week: Week 5 was "invisible week", featuring both an Invisible HOH and Invisible Veto:
- Invisible HOH: In Week 5, the HOH was invisible, meaning that no one else knew who was HOH except for that person, and they were not allowed to tell anyone before the next HOH competition; if they did, they were revealed to all housemates, and would be ineligible to compete in the next two HOH competitions. Since no one knew who the HOH was, they could only compete in the Veto competition if they were picked and they were allowed to compete in the following HOH competition, but still could not cast an eviction vote that week.
- Invisible Veto: Also during Week 5, the Veto Holder was invisible, meaning that no one else knew who was the Veto Holder except for the winner, but they were allowed to tell people if they wanted to do so. Since no one knew who the Veto Holder was, they anonymously made their decision.
- Have-Nots: At the start of Week 6, "have-nots" were introduced, named "the condemned" in French. The condemned were forced to sleep on camp beds in a small room, had to take cold showers, and were fed the infamous slop. The four condemned housemates were chosen by the HOH, and were the two nominated housemates plus two other choices. The same system carried on until the end of Week 7.
- Double Eviction: During Week 6, two housemates, instead of one, were evicted in one night.
- Hidden Immunity Vault: Introduced during the end of Week 7, housemates were able to find a secret to unlock and enter the Vault. Once entered, the housemate who unlocked the Vault chose from one of three powers:
- Personal Immunity, wherein they would automatically be immunized the next time they are nominated.
- Immediate Immunity, wherein if they would immediately remove themselves as an active nominee.
- Allied Immunity, wherein they would be able to grant an ally immunity that would take effect the next time said ally is nominated.
- Obtaining these hidden immunity powers is done in secrecy (although the housemates who find it can share knowledge if desired.) The Vault can only be opened once per week. Each power can only be claimed once, and for personal and allied immunities, they are only valid until the closure of the Vault at the end of Week 10. The secret unlocking method was a keycard hidden in a wall decoration in Week 8, then for Week 9 it was a 5-digit keycode that needed to be decoded from symbols that would periodically appear on screens for a few seconds at a time. For Week 10, the housemates needed to correctly place the hands on a clock based on clues that would periodically occur in the house in the form of flashing lights and sounds effects.
- Box of Trouble: The first two housemates eliminated in the Week 11 HOH challenge were assigned a consequence called "It's In The Box" where they both have to keep one hand each on a specific cardboard box throughout the entire week. Additionally, throughout Weeks 11 and 12, boxes were punctually introduced into the house. Each box contained an advantage or consequence. One hour after each box's arrival, housemates secretly vote for who they want to grant the advantage/consequence to; they cannot vote for themselves.
- Box #1 - The chosen housemate was granted an advantage in the Week 11 Veto competition.
- Box #2 - The chosen housemate was, which had to be one of the two housemates not already nominated or HOH, was added as a third nomination for Week 11.
- Box #3 - The chosen housemate replaced another housemate in the "It's in the Box" punishment and took their place.
- Box #4 - The chosen housemate received an advantage in the Week 12 HOH competition (the Week 11 HOH could not be voted for since they were not eligible for the Week 12 HOH challenge)
- Box #5 - The chosen housemate received a video message from their loved ones.
- Box #6 - The chosen housemate received a punishment, having to move boxes one at a time to various rooms.
- Box #6A - This box informed Stéphanie that she had to move more than one box at a time due to new shipment.
- Box #7 - The chosen housemate received a clue about the nature of the Final Head of Household competition.
- Box #7A - This box informed Éléonore that the clues to the final Head of Household competition are in Stéphanie's punishment boxes. She has five minutes to go the lounge and search through the boxes, find the pieces and complete the puzzle that will give her the clue.
