Bunky is notable for being the first openly gay houseguest in Big Brother U.S. history. He was initially apprehensive about revealing this fact, but he slowly revealed it to everyone in the house, including conservative Kent Blackwelder whom he formed an unlikely friendship with. During Week 8, he was nominated alongside Will Kirby by Head of HouseholdHardy Ames-Hill, and after Will told Hardy he wouldn't nominate him if he stayed, Bunky's fate was sealed after Hardy cast the tiebreaker vote to evict him. Bunky placed 5th and was the seventh member of the jury.
Bunky was one of four Big Brother 2(US) candidates eligible to return for Big Brother 7 (US). However, he was not selected.
