The Bomb Squad was the dominant alliance in Big Brother 16. It was initially formed by the first two Head of Households. Then it then expanded to 4, 6, and finally to 8. It consisted of Amber Borzotra, Caleb Reynolds, Christine Brecht, Cody Calafiore, Derrick Levasseur, Devin Shepherd, Frankie Grande, and Zach Rance although several members revealed they were not completely loyal to the alliance.

Formation

It started on Night 2 when Frankie Grande and Caleb Reynolds received their HOH keys. They decided that they needed to stay together so they decided to bring in Devin Shepherd and Derrick Levasseur. They then declared that they needed to have more in their alliance, so they then brought in Zach Rance and Cody Calafiore. They thought they had their six, but later at 4:30 in the morning Devin told Amber Borzotra and Christine Brecht everything and brought them in without their permission.

Downfall

After Devin's nominees, Brittany Martinez and Paola Shea lost the Battle of the Block, Devin initially wanted Brittany to be evicted that week. However, several members of the Bomb Squad, such as Caleb and Zach, were vocal about wanting to evict Paola that week instead, causing a conflict between them and Devin. After Devin won the Veto, Zach became paranoid that Devin would backdoor him. The two then had an argument in which Zach stated that he understood if Devin was considering nominating him, to which Devin replied that the thought hadn't even crossed his mind but that he would now consider it. Shortly after, Brittany convinced Devin to use the Veto on her, and Devin put Zach up as the replacement nominee. After this, Hayden replaced Zach as the newest Bomb Squad member, although Hayden stated that his goal would be to make the Bomb Squad crumble.

After the Bomb Squad's downfall, there was a new version of the alliance created excluding Caleb, Amber, Hayden, and Devin, called The Detonators, and this new alliance was generally much more loyal throughout the majority of the game.
