Bigg Boss Halla Bol is an extra four week season that was added to the eighth season of Bigg Boss (Hindi).

Background

Development

In December 2014, it was announced that the show will extended for four weeks from Bigg Boss 8 (Hindi) and unlike previous seasons crowned its five champions on 3 January concluding season 8 finale, where spin-off Bigg Boss Halla Bol launched and merged with the regular season. It was confirmed that Salman Khan won't continue to host the show and was replaced by Farah Khan.

Twists

• Champions vs Challengers: At the finale of Bigg Boss 8 (Hindi), after the show announced it's five champions, a new twist was introduced where five ex housemates entered the house and will compete against each other. The challengers mikes were red colour to the champions who had a normal black colour. Each week one champion and one challenger will swap if they are tagged as the worst performer.

^1 On the basis of their performance in the luxury budget task, Mahek was upgraded to the champion level while Gautam was downgraded to the challenger level. Both of them were selected by their respective teams as the best and worst performer respectively. ^2 On the basis of their performance in the luxury budget task, Sambhavna was upgraded to the champion level while Dimpy was downgraded to the challenger level. Sambhavna chose herself for the best performer while the captain, Karishma chose Dimpy as the worst performer. ^3 Challengers chose Tabadla as Luxury Budget over Food where Sana was upgraded as Champion and Karishma was downgraded as Challenger. Both of them were selected by Challengers. ^4 Challengers win the task given by Bigg Boss. As a result, the challengers were upgraded as champions team and the champions were made the challengers.

Controversies

Through their time in the house, housemates will do or say things that are not acceptable to the rules that were explained to them before they entered the house. If an action is deemed too offensive to the viewing public, a housemate can be ejected or given a warning by the producers of the show. The following housemates were involved in a breach of the rules and were either given a warning or ejection by the Bigg Boss producers.

Sambhavna's fight with Dimpy

On the very first day, challenger Sambhavna Seth in a fit of rage through her shoe as fellow housemate Dimpy Ganguli which left everyone shocked. Sambhavna and Dimpy have had a number of fights throughout the season. In one of her fights, Dimpy brought Bigg Boss 2 (Hindi) housemate Payal Rohatgi in as Sambhavna had fights with her in the second season which triggered the latter more.

On the second day, Ajaz Khan attacked fellow housemate Ali Quli Mirza. What started off as friendly banter between old friends Ali Quli Mirza and Ajaz Khan, took a turn for the ugly when the duo grew aggressive and started exchanging derogatory remarks, thereby leading to a very unpleasant situation inside the Bigg Boss house on the very first day of Bigg Boss Halla Bol. It is no secret that the air between the two former comrades has been quite foul ever since Ajaz Khan entered the show as a challenger while often engaging in offensive name-calling and demeaning insults. However, the fight turned sour when Ajaz could no longer hold himself back and assaulted Ali in an act of violence.
