Bigg Boss 11 (Hindi) is the eleventh season of the Hindi version of Bigg Boss.

Background

Development

The season was announced in June 2017. It was confirmed that Salman Khan will return as host in June 2017. The first promo was released on August 16, 2017. This season will also feature the commoners as well as the celebrities.

House

The house had a "padosi" theme which referred to neighbour in English. New sections called Aakhara (activity area) and Kalkothri (jail) were introduced for the first time.

The eye logo was revealed on July 30, 2017 by the makers on Facebook. The eye had two colours this time - white and yellow. The lens was separately situated at the center of the eye. The eye was sliced into two parts diagonally having cracks in both sides.

Casting

On June 6, 2017, CEO of Colors TV Raj Nayak had invited civilians to send their video clip. On September 22, 2017, Hina Khan was roped in as a contestant.

• Celebrities vs. Civilians: For the second season in a row, Celebrities will compete with Civilians.
• Padosi: From weeks 1 and 2, four housemates were secretly immune in the game, where they could make big changes in the game. They also could compete in tasks against other housemates. However, if they failed, they could receive a punishment.

Controversies

Through their time in the house, housemates will do or say things that are not acceptable to the rules that were explained to them before they entered the house. If an action is deemed too offensive to the viewing public, a housemate can be ejected or given a warning by the producers of the show. The following housemates were involved in a breach of the rules and were either given a warning or ejection by the Bigg Boss producers.

Priyank Sharma's ejection

Priyank Sharma and Akash Dadlani.

Priyank Sharma was ejected from the house after he attacked fellow housemate Akash Dadlani. The episode, aired on October 7, 2017 shown the massive fight between Akash and Vikas Gupta. Priyank attacked Akash after the latter's remarks against Vikas's sexuality. Priyank was asked to leave by host Salman Khan. Post his ejection, public had started supporting Priyank and said his eviction was unfair. He was later brought back on public high demand.

Zubair Khan's entry

Salman Khan-Zubair Khan controversy.

Zubair Khan entry became the biggest controversy of the season. He made headlines for his comments and behaviour against fellow housemates Arshi Khan and Bandgi Kalra. Host Salman Khan blasted him for using abusive language against women of the house. He claimed that Salman Khan threatened him that he would not be able to work in the industry anymore after he leaves the house. The host Salman Khan called him 'dog' on the telecast episode.
