Rede Globo began allowing online applications on April 27, 2020, after the finale of Big Brother Brazil 20.[1]
On October 23, 2020, the official Big Brother Brazil twitter account posted a link to an article that confirmed the return of the celebrities vs civilians twist, as well confirming that the season would be 100 days long.[2][3]
Twists
Celebrities vs. Civilians: A twist from Big Brother Brazil 20 that returned as a "fan favorite", Celebrities would compete with Civilians.
Super HOH: Returning from last season, the HOH would be tasked with splitting their housemates into haves and have-nots as well as choosing what and how much each group would be eating. This HOH would also be awarded their own private party at the end of their HOH reign.[4]
Immunity & Nomination Superpower: Starting the day the cast was revealed, the public voted to grant three civilians and three celebrities safety from the first eviction. The six selected HouseGuests would then select one HouseGuest to nominate for eviction.[5]
Back-And-Forth: Once again returning from the previous season, the two or more HouseGuests nominated by the house, a competition and/or a twist will compete against each other for one last chance to save themselves from the block.
Fake Eviction: During Week 6, it was announced that there would be a fake eviction.[6] The winner of Head of Household competition during Week 6 would be given immunity during the following week. All of the final nominees guarantee their spot in the next HOH competition and instead of voting to evict, the audience would be voting to give powers to two housemates, the most voted HouseGuest and the least voted HouseGuest.
Secret Suite & Power of Immunity Veto: The most voted HouseGuest would be moved to a secret suite and be given a Power of Immunity Veto. This gives them the power to annul the decision of the Power of Immunity Holder. This power is valid for two weeks and may only be used once.
Weighted Vote: The least voted HouseGuest would be given a Weighted Vote. This means that, in the Diary Room, their one vote is counted as two votes. This power is valid for two weeks and may only be used once.
Face to Face Nominations: During the Week 9, second round of Week 10 and Day 91 nominations, the housemates had to nominate their fellow housemates in front of everyone else as opposed to the usual private nominations held in the Diary Room.
During Week 6, Juliette was switched to be a have-not after Arthur picked her for the Monster Punishment along with Fiuk who was already a have-not.
During Week 7, Sarah was switched to be a have-not after Projota picked her for the Monster Punishment along with João Luiz who was already a have-not.
During Week 8, Rodolffo was switched to be a have-not after Viih picked him for the Monster Punishment along with Arthur who was already a have-not.
During Week 11, Arthur was switched to be a have-not after João Luiz picked him for the Monster Punishment along with Pocah who was already a have-not.
During Week 12, Arthur was switched to be a have-not after Camilla picked him for the Monster Punishment along with Caio and Gilberto who were already have-nots.
