Big Brother Brazil 12 is the twelfth season of Big Brother Brazil.

Twists

• Live Housemate Selection: The entry of the first 12 participants took place at 1:00 p.m. on January 10. As evidence of the dynamism of the selection of the participants by the program, four more members (from 60 pre-selected) [8] were introduced live on the program on the first day. Those chosen were Analice, Daniel, Fael and Monique. [9] On January 8, it was revealed that Globo convened 60 pre-selected participants to be part of the audience on the program's opening night. All of them went through the whole selection process (they had already done physical and medical examinations, and interviews with the production). [8] These four new entrants would join the other 12 selected, bringing a total number of 16 "brothers".
• Housemate Exchange: Between March 8 and March 15, Laisa Portella was chosen to make a cultural exchange with Gran Hermano 13 (Spain), where she spent a week at the home of the Spanish Big Brother. The following week (March 16 to March 21), the Spaniard Noemí Merino, a 26-year-old surfer from Lanzarote, came to the Brazilian house, where she spent five days.
• Power of No: The Power of No gives the winner the opportunity to disqualify a number of people (previously determined by the producers) from competing in the Head of Household competition alongside the previous HOH.

Controversies

Monique and Daniel

Participant Daniel Echaniz was expelled from the program on suspicion of having acted abusively against his confinement partner Monique Amin after the first edition party. The controversy came to light after a video was posted on the internet showing them both in a bed. Under the covers, Daniel grabs the colleague who, apparently, did not react to his affections for being unconscious. A police investigation went to the house and opened a record of occurrence to hear those involved. [48] Daniel left the program on January 16 under the justification of "serious misconduct" by Rede Globo. [49] In addition to the movement it caused on the internet, the fact was publicized by the main print and television media in the country and also reached international repercussions, highlighting in publications such as the British newspapers Daily Mail and The Guardian and the Australian newspaper Sydney Morning Herald, which highlighted the critics against the station that the episode generated.
