Although the season was initially intended to have a "House of Love" theme, the format was later scrapped. Channel 7 later announced that the show would be changed to a "more stripped-back, traditional Big Brother" with a younger cast.[1]
On Day 2, after the breakdown of the BB Express, Big Brother gave the housemates in the main house the ability to bring the 4 separated contestants into the game by responding to steamy questions. If their responses generate enough steam, the BB express would be able to return to the house and the housemates would all receive a party.

After completing this, they had to dig themselves through a sand tunnel, where after crawling through, they would find a puzzle to solve, which when solved would reveal three numbers.
