Revision as of 11:57, 6 April 2014
Big Brother 3 was the third season of the American reality television series Big Brother. It began on July 10 and aired on CBS for 82 days, concluding on September 25 when Lisa Donahue was crowned the winner with nine votes from the evicted houseguests, claiming the $500,000 prize.
Season 3 of Big Brother was similar to Big Brother 2. Each week, the Head of Household would nominate two players for eviction. On a live Eviction episode, the other house guests would vote to evict one member. However, the Silver Power of Veto was introduced in Season 3. All houseguests competed to win the power. The Veto could be used to save one of the nominees from eviction, forcing the Head of Household to nominate another houseguest. The Head of Household could not nominate the Veto winner. If a nominee won the Silver Power of Veto, they could not save themselves, but could choose to save the other nominee from eviction. The Golden Power of Veto was introduced in Week 9. The Golden Veto was similar to the Silver Veto, except that if a nominee won the Veto, they could use it on themselves. Marcellas Reynolds was nominated and won the POV, but famously did not use it on himself and was sent packing. Amy Crews was evicted in Week 3, but in Week 6 the house voted her back into the game and she made it until Week 10.

Game History
Week 1
Lisa Donahue was crowned the new HOH after the "Wheels of First Impressions" challenge. On the first day, an alliance of six was formed. The alliance of six decided to target Marcellas for eviction. Lisa granted her alliance's wishes by nominating Marcellas Reynolds for eviction, along with Lori Olsen as a pawn. Gerry Lancaster won POV and decided to remove Marcellas from the block. This was because Gerry believed that Marcellas had been nominated due to rasism and homophobia. Lisa Donahue decided to nominate Amy Crews as the replacement nominee. Lori Olsen was then evicted, by a close vote of 5 to 4.
Week 2
Marcellas Reynolds was crowned the new HOH at the end of the "In The House" challenge. Marcellas Reynolds, unsurprisingly, nominated Josh Feinberg, who was the main reason as to why he was nominated the previous week, and Tonya Paoni for eviction. Danielle won the POV challenge, but decided not to use it. The original plan was to vote out Josh. However, after an argument that occured between Tonya and Marcellas, the plan was changed to evict Tonya. Tonya was voted out of the house.
Week 3
Roddy Mancuso was crowned HOH winning the "One Step Beyond" challenge. His plan was to break up the close relationship that had formed between Amy Crews and Marcellas Reynolds. Roddy went through with his plan and nominated both Amy and Marcellas for eviction, with Amy being his main target. Eric won the third POV of the season, and decided not to use it. Amy was voted out unanimously.
Week 4
At the HOH competition, Gerry Lancaster won his second competition of the season. At the nomination ceremony, Gerry nominated Eric Ouellette and Lisa Donahue. He claimed that his aim was to take down the "Couples Alliance", and that he was simply making a "chess move" in the game. At the Veto competition, Chiara Jude Berti won the POV. Even though Chiara had a close friendship with both the nominees, she still decided not to use the Power of Veto. On the eviction night, it was revealed that the vote was tie. As HOH, it was Gerry's duty to break the tie. He chose to evict Eric.
Week 5
After a game of "gutterball", Chiara Jude Berti was crowned HOH. With her aim being to evict Josh Feinberg, Chiara nominated Roddy Mancuso as a pawn to go alongside Josh on the chopping block. Lisa Donahue won the POV. Lisa did not change the nominations. Josh was evicted by a unanimous vote. Shortly after Josh's eviction, the remaining houseguests each voted for which former houseguest they wanted to return to the house; they could either choose Amy Crews or Eric Ouellette. After receiving 5 of 7 votes from her fellow houseguests, Amy returned to the house.
Week 6
Amy Crews won HOH, after an endurance competition. The majority of houseguests requested that Amy put both Chiara Jude Berti and Roddy Mancuso on the chopping block. Amy nominated both Chiara and Roddy, but she made it clear that she wanted Chiara to be evicted from the house. Gerry Lancaster won the POV, but decided not to use it. Chiara was evicted from the house.
Week 7
At the HOH competition, Jason Guy was victorious. The house tried to convince Jason to nominate Roddy Mancuso for eviction. However, Jason did not follow through with the house's wishes and decided to nominate both Amy Crews and Gerry Lancaster for eviction. At the Veto competition, Jason became the first houseguest ever to win both the POV and the HOH competition in the same week. Jason considered using the Veto on one of the nominees in order to put Roddy up for eviction. At the Veto ceremony, Jason decided to keep his nominations the same and not use the Veto. Gerry was voted out unanimously.
Week 8
At the HOH competition, Marcellas Reynolds was victorious for a second time. Throughout the entire season, Marcellas and Amy Crews had been very close friends. However, after Marcellas had become annoyed at some of Amy's recent behaviour, he decided to nominate her and Roddy Mancuso for eviction. At the Veto competition, houseguests were required to complete an obstacle course whilst balancing a flat object on their heads. Amy won the Veto. In the Veto competition in Week 2, Amy had agreed to use the Veto on Roddy if she ever won the it whilst he was nominated. However at the Veto ceremony, Amy decided not to use the Veto. Roddy was evicted by a unanimous vote.
Week 9
At the HOH competition, Jason Guy was victorious for a second time. At the nomination cermony, Jason revealed that he had decided to nominate both Amy Crews and Marcellas Reynolds for eviction. Marcellas won the first and only Golden Power of Veto of the season; this meant that he had the oppurtunity to remove himself from the chopping block. At the live Veto ceremony, Marcellas infamously decided not to use the Veto on himself and kept the nominations the same. He did this as he thought that he would be safe and he didn't want Jason to have to choose a replacement nominee. When the voting was revealed, it was announced the vote was a tie. Jason broke the tie and decided to evict Marcellas.
Week 10
Danielle Reyes was crowned HOH for the first time. She decided to nominate both Amy Crews and Lisa Donahue for eviction, remaining loyal to her deal with Jason Guy. There was no POV competition this week. This meant that Jason would cast the sole vote to evict. He chose to evict Amy.
Week 11
The final HOH competition is played out in three challenges, to give the remaining houseguests a fair shot at securing a place in the final two. During the first endurance HOH competition, Lisa Donahue won the challenge. Days later, Jason Guy beat Danielle Reyes in the next challenge, meaning Danielle was nominated. At the live HOH part 3 competition, Lisa succesfully beat Jason in a personality guessing quiz, claiming the final HOH. She then chose to evict Jason.
