Big Brother 24 (US) is the current 24th season of the broadcasted edition of Big Brother U.S. and the 28th season overall.

Twists

• Backstage Twist: On Night 1, Pooch was randomly selected to become the Backstage Boss. He would be immune, but could not vote or compete in any competitions. He then had to select three players to join him, however they would not be immune, but rather in jeopardy. He selected Alyssa, Brittany and Paloma. America was set to vote to save one of them, and they voted to save Brittany. During the first eviction, Julie revealed that the plan was for the house to vote on one of the two regular nominees made by the HoH, and then for one of the two Backstage members to be chosen. The houseguest who received the most votes and the selected Backstage member were set to duel in a head to head competition, where the winner remains in the game while the loser is evicted. However, Paloma walked from the game and since she was in jeopardy, the twist was cancelled and the game reset. It was never revealed how the decision would have been made between the two remaining Backstage members, but many fans theorized that Pooch would have had to make the decision as the Backstage Boss. The competition that would have taken place within the twist was instead incorporated into the first round of the second HoH competition. The houseguests would each be randomly paired up to face off head to head, where the winners all advance into the second round.
• Festie Besties: At the start of Week 3, the houseguests were paired up. They were allowed to choose their partners after the HOH competition, depending on their placement. Identical to Big Brother 13 (US), the HOH would have the sole power to nominate for the week but their partner would be immune. They would then nominate one duo to sit on the block, and then they all compete against a third duo in the POV competition, randomly chosen during the Veto Draw. If the POV is used, both members of that duo come off the block and an entirely new duo would go up as the replacement. In a difference from BB13, the bestie who survives the eviction is not granted safety. Instead, they get to choose which pair of besties they would like to join, turning it from a duo into a trio. All three players are safe if one of them wins HOH, and all three will be nominated together and play POV together. A trio could have possibly been turned into a group of four if the next surviving bestie chose to join them, and the same rules would still apply even as a foursome competing against duos. This twist lasted until the start of Week 6.
• Split House Double Eviction: The houseguests will be split up into two separate groups that will not be allowed to have any interactions with each other. Within those groups, two separate but simultaneous weeks of Big Brother will take place, culminating with two houseguests leaving in a Double Eviction like never before.
