After rumors of an anniversary special, it was reported by Twitter user Reality BBQ that a twenty-five season special was planned to air on July 26, 2023 to commentate the franchise.[1] It was later officially revealed in a press release on July 13, 2023 that the special, produced by Entertainment Tonight, was to premiere on July 26, 2023, exactly one week before the premiere of season 25.[2]

  • CBS presents BIG BROTHER 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, an ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT special, premiering Wednesday, July 26 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs)*.
  • BIG BROTHER 25th season premiere with a special 90-minute live move-in event Wednesday, Aug. 2 (8:00-9:30 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+.*

On the day of the special's release, an exclusive interview with Variety was published, with Julie and executive producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, alongside quotes from Jeff Probst and Phil Keoghan.[5]
